• Adds Illinois Department of Transportation Emergency Traffic Patrol vehicles to the definition of authorized emergency vehicles in the Illinois Vehicle Code.

• Permits Emergency Traffic Patrol vehicles to use red or white oscillating, rotating, or flashing lights, but only when responding to emergency calls or when parked at emergency scenes providing motor vehicle assistance.

• Establishes that lights on Emergency Traffic Patrol vehicles shall not be lighted except during emergency response or when stationary at the scene of an emergency.

• Updates Section 1-105 (Authorized Emergency Vehicle) and Section 12-215 (Oscillating, Rotating or Flashing Lights on Motor Vehicles) of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
