IL HB1057

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to add a new exemption allowing Returned Check Collectors employed by the Secretary of State to carry firearms while performing their duties.

Requires Returned Check Collectors to possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification card and complete a Secretary of State-approved course in firearms control and training before carrying a firearm.

Mandates that the Secretary of State provide documentation certifying successful training completion and authorization to carry, including employee name, agency, and identification number, which must be carried at all times when the employee possesses a firearm.

Limits the exemption to firearms provided by the Secretary of State in accordance with the agency's internal rules on firearm assignment and distribution.
