Increases mandatory minimum sentence for unlawful weapon possession by felons from 2 years to 5 years for first offense and from 3 years to 7 years for second or subsequent offenses.

Raises mandatory minimum sentences for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon from 3 years to 7 years for persons with prior felony convictions, with maximum sentence increased from 7 years to 14 years.

Increases mandatory minimum sentence for first offense of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon with specific conditions from 1 year to 3 years and maximum from 3 years to 6 years.

Enhances penalties for weapon possession while on parole or mandatory supervised release from 3-year to 7-year mandatory minimum as a Class 2 felony.

Maintains Class X felony designation for machine gun possession and adds Class X felony for aggravated unlawful use of weapon while wearing body armor without valid firearm identification card.
