IL HB1163

Amends tuition provisions for the University of Illinois, Southern Illinois University, Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois University, Governors State University, Illinois State University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, and Western Illinois University.

Defines "veteran" as any person honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces, reserve components, or National Guard of any state, commonwealth, territory, or the District of Columbia.

Requires governing boards of all covered universities to deem veterans as Illinois residents for tuition purposes, regardless of their actual state of residence.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
