IL HB1216

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to add a new exemption to criminal trespass to real property for retrieving hunting dogs.

Allows a person to enter another's land on foot without a firearm to retrieve a dog used for hunting purposes, provided the person immediately leaves the property after retrieving the dog.

This exemption does not apply if the person is armed with a firearm or uses a motor vehicle to access the property.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
