• Personal assistants and individual providers under the Department of Human Services' Home Services Program must submit to criminal history background checks.

• The Department shall promulgate rules specifying conditions or circumstances under which personal assistants or individual providers may be denied employment based on background check results.

• "Individual provider" is defined as a person privately hired by customers to provide Home Services Program services as a personal assistant, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, certified nurse assistant, occupational therapist, physical therapist, or speech therapist.

• Amends the Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Act (20 ILCS 2405/3) to implement these background check requirements.
