IL HB1447

Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act by adding Section 10e regarding attorney's fees determination.

Requires courts to use the Laffey Matrix prepared by the Civil Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia when awarding reasonable attorney's fees to prevailing parties.

Mandates adjustment of the Laffey Matrix using the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) for the Washington-Baltimore area.

Excludes cases where hourly rates for attorney's fees are limited by statute from this requirement.
