IL HB1450

Amends the Lobbyist Registration Act to prohibit elected or appointed officials of local government units and school districts from serving as contractual lobbyists if their term begins on or after the effective date of this Act.

Allows local government and school district officials to serve as exclusive lobbyists, distinguishing between the two types of lobbying arrangements.

Adds Section 4.7 to the Lobbyist Registration Act to establish restrictions on local officials' lobbying activities.

Clarifies in Section 9 that the Act does not infringe on citizens' constitutional right to petition public officials, including holders of elective local government offices.
