IL HB1460

Amends the Service Contract Act to define "road hazard" as hazards encountered while driving, including potholes, rocks, debris, glass, and curbs.

Expands service contracts to cover tire and wheel repair or replacement from road hazard damage.

Adds coverage for paintless dent removal, windshield chip or crack repair from road hazards, and motor vehicle key or key-fob replacement if lost, stolen, or inoperable.

Permits service contracts to cover protective chemicals, substances, devices, or systems installed on motor vehicles that include written product warranties for incidental costs if the product fails to prevent specified loss or damage.

Prohibits service contracts from covering scheduled maintenance only, fuel or oil additives, and damage to vehicle interior surfaces or exterior paint or finish (except when offered with protective product sales).
