IL HB1535

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code Section 11-23-4 regarding public hospital boards in municipalities.

Requires any director appointed to a hospital board by the city council to reside within the area served by the hospital throughout their entire term.

Maintains existing provisions for a 3-director board (with staggered 1, 2, and 3-year terms) or an expanded 5-11 director board at the city council's discretion.

Preserves existing rules on director removal, vacancy filling, compensation prohibition, and conflict-of-interest restrictions on supply purchases.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
