IL HB2222

Amends Section 2-1117 of the Code of Civil Procedure regarding joint liability in civil actions for bodily injury, death, or property damage based on negligence or product liability.

All defendants found liable remain jointly and severally liable for plaintiff's past and future medical and medically related expenses.

Defendants whose fault is less than 25% of total fault shall be severally liable (not jointly liable) for all other damages.

Defendants whose fault is 25% or greater of total fault shall be jointly and severally liable for all other damages.

Removes the exception that previously shielded the plaintiff's employer from liability calculations.
