IL HB2227

Adds new paragraph (EE) to prohibited probation offenses for Class 3 felonies or higher involving corruption of public officials, including theft, fraud, extortion, or violations of Official Misconduct and Public Contracts provisions, when defendant was an elected official or offense involved more than $10,000.

Prohibits probation, periodic imprisonment, or conditional discharge for corruption offenses under paragraph (EE) unless prosecutor certifies at sentencing that defendant provided substantial assistance in case or another prosecution of substantial public importance.

Amends references throughout the statute to recognize both the Criminal Code of 1961 and Criminal Code of 2012 for various offense definitions and sentencing provisions.

Modifies definition section to reference Criminal Code of 2012 instead of Criminal Code of 1961 for "family member" and "victim" definitions in aggravated criminal sexual abuse cases.
