IL HB2232

Amends the Park District Code to allow park districts to enter into contracts exceeding one year (up to 3 years) for the purchase of energy from a utility or alternative retail electric supplier.

Adds energy purchase contracts to the list of permitted multi-year contracts, alongside employment of technical personnel and professional consultants, and data processing equipment and services.

Requires park districts to include annual appropriations in their fiscal year budgets sufficient to cover payments due under multi-year energy contracts.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
