Amends Section 367f of the Illinois Insurance Code regarding firemen's continuance privilege for group health insurance coverage during retirement or disability periods.

Allows disabled or retired firefighters not previously enrolled in municipal group insurance plans to elect enrollment during open enrollment periods, but not after becoming eligible for federal Medicare coverage and only once.

Requires firefighters seeking to re-enroll must be insurable and pay the full cost of insurance premiums at rates consistent with active firefighters' rates.

Maintains existing provisions for firefighters already enrolled at retirement or disability, including continued coverage for dependents and premium payment options through pension fund deductions.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
