IL HB2242

Repeals Sections 27-5, 27-6, and 27-7 of the School Code, which previously mandated physical education and training requirements for students.

Modifies Section 2-3.25g to remove the special 2-year renewal limit that previously applied to waivers from physical education mandates, allowing such waivers to follow the standard 5-year renewal period.

Creates the Eradicate Domestic Violence Task Force to develop a statewide high school prevention course based on the Step Back Program, addressing interpersonal and adolescent violence.

Updates Section 27-8.1 regarding health examinations and immunizations by removing references to physical education programs in the context of religious exemptions.

Updates Section 27-22.05 to reference only Section 27-22 (removing reference to Section 27-6) regarding course requirements that may be substituted with vocational or technical education courses.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
