IL HB2245

Requires school personnel to complete mandated reporter training within one year of initial employment and at least every five years thereafter from a provider with expertise in recognizing and reporting child abuse.

Mandates that school district superintendents disclose to other school districts inquiring about a job applicant if a report of child abuse involving that applicant's conduct was made to the Department, unless the Department determined the allegations were unfounded.

Requires school district employees who were subjects of child abuse reports to be informed that this information may be disclosed to other school districts if they apply for employment elsewhere.

Expands the list of professionals required to report suspected child abuse to include personnel at offices, clinics, or facilities providing abortions, abortion referrals, or contraceptives.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
