IL HB2262

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code Section 4-1.6 to disregard the value of all assets held by families when determining eligibility for public aid under Article 4.

Requires the Illinois Department to disregard all earned income between the grant amount and 50% of the Federal Poverty Level for eligibility purposes.

Maintains the requirement that three-fourths of earned income of households eligible for aid shall be disregarded when determining assistance levels.

Permits the Illinois Department to allow earned or other income to be set aside for future identifiable needs of a child and to set forth criteria for ineligibility due to lump sum payments.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
