IL HB2273

Amends the Weights and Measures Act to establish that apparatus certified by the Department or city sealer as of July 1, 2012 satisfies construction and installation requirements without needing new certification.

Removes the word "new" from Section 30 to clarify that all weights and measures used in trade and commerce must conform to National Institute of Standards and Technology specifications, including repaired devices and devices relocated within the state.

Requires Certificate of Conformance for commercial or law enforcement use of weights and measuring devices, except those already certified by the Department or city sealer on or before July 1, 2012.

Allows the Department to issue identification plates for registration and tracking purposes for weights and measures that cannot be practically marked with manufacturer name and serial number.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
