IL HB2322

Amends Section 14-1.09.2 of the School Code to allow school social work services to be provided by holders of either a Type 73 School Service Personnel Certificate or a Professional Educator License with a school support personnel endorsement in school social work.

Expands the list of school social work services to include implementing social and emotional education programs, establishing bullying prevention and intervention programs, and evaluating program effectiveness.

Amends the Children's Mental Health Act of 2003 to authorize school social workers to implement a continuum of social and emotional education programs and services in accordance with students' needs as part of district policies on social and emotional development.

Clarifies that other certified professionals may continue to provide any of the listed school social work services for which they are appropriately trained.
