IL HB2424

Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to modify delinquent payment fees charged to offenders for unpaid fines, fees, costs, restitution, or bond forfeitures.

Changes the additional fee from 30% of delinquent amount to $75 or 30% of delinquent amount, whichever is greater, plus all taxable court costs including service of process costs.

Authorizes State's Attorneys to retain attorneys and private collection agents to collect delinquent amounts and to assign portions of the additional fee to these retained parties with Circuit Clerk approval.

Maintains existing provisions for contempt proceedings, imprisonment terms (up to 6 months for felonies, 30 days for misdemeanors), and 9% annual interest on unpaid amounts.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
