Creates a Violence Prevention Task Force consisting of 6 members: one Senate member appointed by the President, one by the Senate Minority Leader, one House member appointed by the Speaker, one by the House Minority Leader, and 2 members appointed by the Governor (one designated as chairperson)

Members serve without compensation but are reimbursed for reasonable and necessary expenses; Task Force may employ skilled experts with chairperson approval and receive cooperation from State agencies

Illinois African American Family Commission, Illinois Department of Public Health, and Illinois Latino Family Commission provide administrative and other support to the Task Force

Task Force duties include increasing awareness of violence prevention resources and opportunities, assisting community groups in providing safe spaces, developing youth recreational and educational initiatives, organizing community mental health providers, providing school behavioral health resources, and assisting at-risk youth with jobs and opportunities to prevent crime

Task Force must submit an annual report to the Governor and General Assembly by December 1 each year detailing its activities
