IL HB2915

Declares that regulation of firearm and ammunition ownership and possession are exclusive state powers, prohibiting local governments including home rule units from imposing registration requirements.

Prohibits local governments from requiring reporting of firearm or ammunition sales and transfers, or maintaining any registry or list of firearms.

Voids all existing and future local ordinances and resolutions that impose registration requirements on firearms, ammunition, components, accessories, or accoutrements.

Removes the previous clause that allowed municipal ordinances to impose greater restrictions on firearms than state law without being invalidated.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
