Department of Public Health must adopt a rule requiring meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) immunization for students entering 6th and 12th grade in public, private, or parochial schools

6th grade students must receive one dose of MCV4 vaccine; 12th grade students must receive two doses, unless the first dose was given at age 16 or older, in which case only one dose is required

Vaccine must meet U.S. Public Health Service standards and align with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendations

Requirement does not take effect until 6 months after final rules are approved

Existing Illinois standards for parental, legal guardian, and medical objections remain applicable
