HB3293 Summary

• Eliminates stipends and additional compensation for county officials (assessors, supervisors of assessments, county treasurers, coroners, sheriffs, recorders of deeds, and circuit court clerks) whose terms of office begin on or after the effective date of this Act.

• Removes $500 annual compensation for supervisors of assessments with Certified Assessing Evaluator Certificates for new terms.

• Removes $3,000 annual performance-based compensation for assessors in counties with 50,000 or fewer inhabitants for new terms.

• Eliminates $6,500 annual stipends for county treasurers, sheriffs, coroners, auditors, and recorders of deeds for new terms.

• Eliminates $6,500 annual awards for circuit court clerks for new terms, while preserving base salary compensation requirements set by county boards.
