County boards may appropriate funds from year to year to maintain any veterans' memorial or memorial building erected within the county.

Townships shall provide for the payment and maintenance of monuments or memorials erected pursuant to a majority vote by township voters.

Municipal corporate authorities shall levy and collect taxes as necessary to raise funds specified in a petition and to provide for the maintenance of memorials erected by majority vote.

Organizations that lease park district land to build a military or naval memorial are responsible for maintaining that memorial.

Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
