Requires students entering 9th grade in 2008-2009 or later to complete four years of language arts, three years of mathematics, two years of science, two years of social studies, and one year of elective (music, art, foreign language, or vocational education) for high school diploma.

Allows Advanced Placement computer science course to count as one of the three required mathematics years if student successfully completes Algebra II or integrated mathematics course with Algebra II content.

Requires school districts offering Advanced Placement computer science to designate it as equivalent to a high school mathematics course and note on student transcript that it qualifies as a mathematics-based, quantitative course.

Requires State Board of Education to develop standards for writing-intensive coursework that students must complete starting with 2006-2007 9th grade cohort.

Establishes phased-in graduation requirements for different cohorts of students entering 9th grade between 1984-1985 and 2008-2009 school years, with requirements increasing over time.
