IL HB3715

Increases the homestead improvement exemption from $75,000 to $100,000 per year beginning January 1, 2015.

Allows homestead improvement exemptions for accessibility modifications made for disabled persons or senior citizens to continue indefinitely as long as the disabled person or senior citizen uses the property as their primary residence.

Maintains the standard 4-year exemption period for other homestead improvements, or until the next general assessment, whichever is later.

Requires assessors in counties with fewer than 3,000,000 inhabitants to either notify taxpayers of their eligibility for the exemption or grant it automatically when assessments change.
