Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois shall include the Governor, 9 appointed trustees, and at least one student trustee from each University campus.

Only one student trustee may cast a legally binding vote, designated by the Governor, while other student trustees may cast advisory votes and participate in meetings.

Student trustees must be Illinois residents, maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and remain full-time enrolled during their one-year terms.

Residency for student trustee eligibility is demonstrated by Illinois domicile for at least 6 months, current valid Illinois driver's license, and valid Illinois voter registration, separate from tuition residency determinations.

Act takes effect June 1, 2014.
