IL HB4483

Amends the Open Meetings Act to add training requirements for elected and appointed members of park districts, forest preserve districts, and conservation districts.

Members of these districts may satisfy training requirements by completing courses sponsored by organizations representing park districts, covering legal requirements for open meetings, Act applicability, quorum/notice/record-keeping procedures, open and closed meeting procedures, and penalties for non-compliance.

Organizations providing training must issue certificates of completion to members who successfully complete the course.

Exempts subsections (b), (c), (d), (e), and (f) of Section 1.05 from Class C misdemeanor penalties for violations of the Open Meetings Act.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
