• County Animal Control facilities in disaster-declared areas must retain impounded animals for a minimum of 3 days beyond normal retention time before adoption, transfer, or euthanasia.

• County Animal Control may transfer impounded animals to another facility at any time if at full capacity following a natural disaster.

• County Animal Control must maintain a detailed list of transferred animals for a minimum of one month after the disaster.

• Facilities receiving transferred animals must retain those animals for an additional 3 days beyond their normal retention time.

• The Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
