Changes the minimum distance threshold for school transportation eligibility from 1.5 miles to 2 miles in multiple sections of the School Code governing pupil transportation.

Applies the 2-mile distance requirement to mandatory free transportation for pupils in community consolidated districts, unit districts, and other specified district types, as well as to charter school and nonpublic school pupils.

Updates transportation reimbursement provisions to use the 2-mile distance standard for determining eligible pupils and calculating state reimbursement to school districts for transportation costs.

Modifies provisions allowing school boards to charge for transportation of pupils living less than 2 miles from school and provisions regarding pick-up points within 2 miles of student homes.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
