Designates the section of Illinois Route 97 from Veterans Parkway in Springfield to County Highway 12 in Menard County as the John "Doc" Davidson Memorial Highway.

Illinois Department of Transportation is requested to erect plaques or signs at suitable locations along the designated route notifying of the memorial highway name.

John "Doc" Davidson (1924-) was an Illinois State Senator representing the 50th District from 1973 to 1993, covering Sangamon, Christian, and Montgomery Counties.

Davidson's major legislative accomplishment was securing the location of the SIU School of Medicine in Springfield to provide medical care to the Springfield region.

Davidson was a chiropractor, U.S. Navy World War II veteran, founding member of the Prairie State Games, Sangamon County Board chair, and recipient of the National Chiropractor of the Year Award in 1973.
