Urges administrators of all museums and zoos in Illinois to designate a day in April (Autism Awareness Month) dedicated to individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

Aims to increase public awareness and education about autism spectrum disorders during the designated day.

Provides families with individuals affected by autism spectrum disorders an opportunity to enjoy museums and zoos at their leisure.

Establishes that approximately 1 in 88 children have been identified with an autism spectrum disorder, affecting all racial, ethnic, economic, and social groups.

Requires suitable copies of the resolution to be distributed to every museum and zoo in the State of Illinois.
