HJR0077 Summary

• Creates the Latinos with Disabilities Task Force to examine the status of Latinos with disabilities in Illinois and advise the General Assembly and Governor on necessary improvements.

• Task Force shall compile data on Latinos with disabilities including incidence, prevalence, disability types, service access, and programming participation.

• Task Force shall assess barriers to service participation, evaluate health and human services system reform efforts, and identify best-practices for equitable Latino participation.

• Task Force composition includes 3 persons with disabilities or relatives appointed by Governor, 3 advocacy organization representatives, 6 provider agency/research organization representatives, and 1 Department of Human Services representative; all Governor-appointed members recommended by Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus and Illinois Latino Family Commission.

• Task Force shall submit final report and recommendations to Governor and General Assembly no later than January 1, 2016.
