Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park was formally established by Governors State University Board of Trustees in 1978 and named after developer Nathan Manilow, who co-founded American Community Builders and helped build Park Forest for returning World War II veterans.

The park displays 29 master works of sculpture across 100-plus acres of prairie landscape, including 24 permanent pieces and 5 works on long-term loan, featuring major late-20th century American sculptors and Chicago-based artists from 1973 to 2010.

The park provides educational outreach and programming focused on sculpture and art in contemporary life, supported by volunteers and donors with goals of education, acquisition, and conservation.

Illinois Department of Transportation is requested to erect plaques or signs at Interstate 57 at Sauk Trail Road and at the new Interstate 57 and Interstate 294 interchange to notify travelers of the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park.

Copies of this resolution shall be delivered to the Illinois Department of Transportation and Governors State University President Elaine Maimon.
