Recognizes alcohol as the most commonly used and abused drug among youth in the United States and identifies underage drinking as a major public health problem.

Associates underage alcohol abuse with school problems including higher absence rates and poor or failing grades.

Encourages all Illinois school districts to establish educational programs informing parents about the dangers of serving alcohol to minors and the legal prohibitions and punishments for violations.

Encourages parents and minor children in Illinois to participate in school district educational programs concerning the dangers of serving alcohol to minors.

Directs suitable copies of the resolution be delivered to the Chairperson of the State Board of Education.
