Urges Governor Pat Quinn to stop the closure process of the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center, which Governor Quinn announced on April 19, 2013.

Notes that the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center has served more than 275 severely developmentally-disabled residents since 1964, many of whom require constant care and cannot function independently.

Identifies that closure would displace 276 residents and directly impact 225 families, with no viable alternative care options available from the State of Illinois.

Requests the Governor complete and review the study of the Jacksonville Developmental Center closure before proceeding with closures of other State Operated Developmental Centers.

Directs suitable copies of the resolution be presented to the Governor and the Secretary of the Department of Human Services.
