Designates February 22, 2014 as UIC Urban Planning and Policy Day in Illinois to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the University of Illinois at Chicago's Department of Urban Planning and Policy.

Recognizes that the department was established in fall 1973 when the Planning Task Force delivered recommendations to College of Urban Sciences dean Charles Orlebeke.

Notes that the department has grown to become one of the largest graduate planning programs in the nation and the only accredited planning program in the Chicago area, ranking in the top tier of the Planetizen guide to urban planning programs.

Urges Illinois citizens to support the growth and improvement of communities through partnership with the education and research efforts of the over 2,000 UIC Urban Planning and Policy students and alumni.

Directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to the University of Illinois at Chicago as a symbol of esteem and respect.
