Encourages the Illinois State Board of Education and school districts to consider the benefits of inclusive education for students with and without disabilities.

Recognizes that inclusive classrooms bring students together regardless of abilities and help students with disabilities score higher on literacy measures than those in segregated settings.

Notes that research shows students without disabilities score higher on state standardized tests over 4-year periods in inclusive settings without negative academic impact.

Affirms that inclusive education promotes social growth, allows students to develop long-lasting friendships, and teaches appreciation for diversity among students with differing abilities.

Directs delivery of copies of this resolution to the Illinois State Board of Education and Regional Offices of Education.
