Honors State Representative Naomi Jakobsson for 12 years of service in the Illinois General Assembly representing the 103rd District since 2002.

Recognizes her prior work as Champaign County Recorder of Deeds for 12 years, interim director of a domestic violence shelter, and Executive Director of the University YWCA.

Commends her advocacy for adoption services, higher education (as Chair of the House Higher Education Committee), marriage equality, and environmental protection including mercury emissions reduction and aquifer preservation.

Notes she and her husband Eric raised 8 children (6 adopted) and have 11 grandchildren, and acknowledges her leadership at McKinley Church.

Directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to Rep. Jakobsson as an expression of respect and esteem.
