IL SB1362

Amends the Critical Health Problems and Comprehensive Health Education Act to require age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention education in grades pre-kindergarten through 12.

Allows schools that comply with the sexual abuse and assault prevention education requirement to opt out of another instructional mandate in the Act or School Code that requires equal instruction time but has lesser value.

Takes effect only if House Bill 6193 of the 97th General Assembly becomes law in the form it passed the House.

Becomes effective immediately or on the date House Bill 6193 takes effect, whichever is later.
