IL SB1396

Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act (430 ILCS 65/8.1) with a technical change regarding notification procedures.

Requires Circuit Clerks to notify the Department of State Police of all final dispositions in cases where the Department received information under Sections 2.1 and 2.2 of the Criminal Identification Act.

Mandates courts to direct circuit court clerks to immediately notify the Department of State Police FOID department upon adjudication of an individual as mentally defective as defined in applicable law.

Courts must forward a copy of the court order regarding mental defective adjudications to the Department of State Police.
