IL SB1406

Amends the Environmental Protection Act, Section 22 (415 ILCS 5/22) to make a technical change to language concerning the Board's authority to adopt regulations.

Changes "the the" to "the" in the opening language of Section 22 regarding the Board's ability to adopt regulations to promote the purposes of Title I of the Environmental Protection Act.

Maintains all existing regulatory authority provisions covering refuse collection and disposal, hazardous waste handling, record-keeping requirements, monitoring procedures, and hazardous waste disposal site standards.

Preserves the Board's authority to prohibit disposal of certain hazardous wastes in sanitary landfills when economically reasonable alternatives are available.
