IL SB1428

Prohibits state and local officers, employees, and federally-licensed firearms dealers from enforcing any federal law or regulation regarding firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition manufactured or owned in Illinois and remaining exclusively within state boundaries.

Makes it a Class 4 felony for any federal official, agent, or employee to enforce federal firearms laws against firearms, accessories, or ammunition manufactured or owned in Illinois and remaining exclusively within the state.

Allows persons charged with federal violations related to firearms manufactured, sold, transferred, or possessed exclusively in Illinois to request the Illinois Attorney General to defend them.

Declares any federal law, rule, regulation, or order effective on or after January 1, 2013 unenforceable in Illinois if it bans or restricts semi-automatic firearms or magazines, or requires registration of firearms, magazines, or firearm accessories.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
