IL SB1537

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code by adding Section 1-8.6 to establish eligibility restrictions for non-citizen post-secondary students.

Declares post-secondary students who are not United States citizens and are enrolled in public universities, colleges, or community colleges in Illinois ineligible for any public aid benefits under the Code.

Prohibits public universities, colleges, and community colleges in Illinois from counseling non-citizen students or providing information about how or where to apply for public aid benefits.
