IL SB1538

Amends the Fish and Aquatic Life Code to allow taking of carp, buffalo, suckers, gar, bowfin, shad, and drum using a sling shot bow in addition to existing methods (pitchfork, underwater spear gun, bow and arrow, spear, or gig)

Requires persons using these methods to possess a valid sport fishing license

Prohibits sale or barter of fish taken by these methods

Maintains existing restriction that no other fish species may be taken using these methods

Takes effect upon becoming law
