Deputy registrars must return completed voter registration materials to election authorities within 2 business days after receipt until the last day for accepting registrations before an election, replacing previous timelines of 7 days until the 35th day before an election and 48 hours between the 35th and 28th days.

State Board of Elections and Secretary of State are prohibited from adopting rules that conflict with the return timeline requirements for Secretary of State employees serving as deputy registrars at driver's license facilities.

Unauthorized copying, photocopying, or dissemination of information from voter registration applications is prohibited and constitutes a Class A misdemeanor, with protected information including applicant name, address, phone number, social security number, and driver's license number.
