SB1561 Summary

• Adds exemption to Illinois Procurement Code for contracts between the Department of Agriculture and non-profit service organizations providing goods or services at the Illinois State Fair or DuQuoin State Fair.

• Defines "service organization" as veterans organizations, voluntary clubs or groups organized for charitable purposes, or entities making contributions to charitable organizations.

• Applies definitions of "charitable purpose," "charitable organization," and "contribution" from the Solicitation for Charity Act, including entities exempted under that Act.

• Renumbers existing subsection (h) to subsection (i) regarding chief procurement officer access to records for determining procurement code applicability.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
