• Amends Section 34-1 of the School Code concerning the Chicago School District Article with a technical grammatical change.

• Removes redundant use of the word "the" in the definition of "Trustees" to refer to the Chicago School Reform Board of Trustees.

• Applies only to cities with a population exceeding 500,000.

• Defines "Board" or "board of education" to mean the Chicago School Reform Board of Trustees through June 30, 1999 or until appointment of a new Chicago Board of Education under Section 34-3, whichever is later.
