IL SB1706

Amends the Green Buildings Act by making a technical correction to Section 15 regarding Green Building Standards.

Removes duplicate language ("the") in subsection (b) that requires all State-funded construction and major renovation projects to achieve the highest level of LEED, Green Globes, or equivalent certification within project budget.

Maintains requirements that buildings under 10,000 square feet meet the highest LEED standard without mandatory certification, while buildings 10,000 square feet or larger must achieve LEED Silver or equivalent certification.

Preserves exemptions for non-conditioned buildings and waiver procedures for projects demonstrating unreasonable financial burden, construction impediments, functional impairment, or historic preservation conflicts.

Requires all State-funded projects to implement at least one LEED alternative transportation criterion for public transit or bicycle access in addition to green building standards.
